#Manifesto

Saturday 22.04.2023. / 15:30

FNO23-9
juggling, physical theatre
circus tent at Zenta bay
EX-teater (Slovenia)

Transnational artist Heidi Blumenfeld blurs the boundaries between high art and entertainment, between funny and serious, and between masculine and feminine. Her art is her juggling which gives the performance a strong visual character. But how to do art? How to be an artist in a time when everyone wants to be an artist?

This performance is an artwork and an artistic manifesto that denigrates the institution, contemporary art, hippies and hipsters and always returns to the archetype through new stage techniques. Minimalistic cabaret aesthetics combined with circus technique and a character with a mission – do not bore the audience. A humorous and ironic creation that celebrates art and subverts the myths around it.

EX-teater was founded in 2016 by the director Hristina Vasić Tomše, composer and poet Slobodan Ivanović, and performer Andrej Tomše. “#Manifesto” is their first completed performance. Andrej Tomše finished the circus school CAU in Granada, Spain. He also holds a degree in comparative literature and Spanish language. He lives between Berlin and Ljubljana…

The performance “#Manifesto” in Split is realized with the financial support of the Kultura nova Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and the media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Split.
