Ways of Being

Danka Sekulović and Tjaž Juvan are returning to the Festival with the finished performance of “Ways of Being” after having a residency and work-in-progress presentation in 2023.

Samuel Beckett defined habit as a compromise reached between the individual and his environment, between the individual and his organic eccentricities. If life consists of a series of habits, and the world is a projection of individual consciousness, then habit is only a generic term for countless agreements made between countless subjects. It exact relationship is established not only between performers but also between performers and audiences. The author’s team’s choice to set clear limits and leave little room for movement, which is a very direct reference to the living conditions we agree to, conditioned the circus disciplines to compress and find balance at the smallest possible point.
