Les Colporteurs is one of the most successful contemporary circus collective currently performing around the world. It is a group that has redefined the art of wire walking. Although known for its monodisciplinary performances, the story of “Méandres” begins in 2006. Then the group partnered with the oldest circus academy in the world “Académie Fratellini” to create a unique circus prop – the so-called Étoile-Mât. Étoile-Mât combines the discipline of wire walking and the Chinese pole.
Méandres tells the story of a woman at the bottom of the pole, a woman isolated and distant from everything, one who wants to escape from the world, who has decided to surrender – to let her body and imagination dance…
The performance “Méandres” is realized with the financial support of Teatroskop (part of the “Circus (must) SEE” program), the French Institute in Zagreb (part of the “Rendez-vous inattendus – Unexpected rendez-vous” program), Kultura nova Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and the media of the Republic of Croatia.
